The Alpine Kiwanis Club, the Alpine Mountain Empire Chamber of Commerce and the Alpine Community Center are joining forces to bring a 4th of July Parade and family friendly Festival to our town. Please download a Poster and bring it to your favorite business to be posted.
There will be prizes for the best Parade entry. If you'd like to be in the Parade, you MUST reserve your spot by calling our Parade Director, Hilde Hinchcliffe at (619) 659-8707 or downloading a Parade Entry Form and getting it in ASAP.
We also have a few spots left for vendor booths. They are filling fast. Download and submit your Vendor Booth Application right away.
Participants will check in at the Alpine Women's Club at 9:00 a.m. for staging. The parade will begin promptly at 10:00 a.m. with a flyover of the Buecker Squadron's decorated refurbished World War II biplanes and the ringing of church bells. It will travel about a half mile down Alpine Blvd. and end at Tavern Road.
Our Grand Marshalls are 40-year Alpine residents Roy and Willa Athey. After retiring from careers as a correctional officer and nurse respectively, they restored a locomotive and built tracks in their backyard, providing free historical rides to more than 14,000 people over 27 years as the Descanso Alpine and Pacific Railway.
Then our annual 4th of July Festival will begin in the Alpine Community Center Park with live music by the Ideas and the Jazz Express Band. We will also enjoy lots of great food including pulled pork and hot dogs by the Knights of Columbus, lots of vendor booths with games and snacks, a Bounce House, a dunk tank and a mobile Petting Zoo. Admission is free but be sure to bring some cash for food and some of the games.
None of this would be possible without the financial support of our wonderful sponsors. Please thank them and patronize their businesses!
